Heidi Barcus Assumes Presidency of the Knoxville Bar Association
Knoxville, Tennessee - Heidi A. Barcus assumed the presidency of the Knoxville Bar Association at the close of the meeting today.
Ms. Barcus, a partner in the firm, has practiced with London & Amburn since 1999. Ms. Barcus obtained her undergraduate degree from Baylor University, her Masters’ degree from Ohio University, and her law degree from the U.T. College of Law cum laude in 1993. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Hamilton S. Burnett Inn of Court, and the American Health Lawyer's Association. She serves as a Fellow in the Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Foundations and is a recipient of the Spirit of Justice Award. Her practice areas include medical malpractice defense, long term care, hospital law and general civil litigation.
In her remarks to members of the Knoxville Bar Association at the Annual Meeting, Ms. Barcus challenged the Bar to remember the honor and privilege of the profession. In 2013 she will focus on helping lawyers navigate the changing profession, keeping the lawyers physically active and healthy, and remembering the senior members of the association. She also emphasized that the Bar will continue to provide valuable services to its members and provide opportunities for the members to serve the Knoxville community.
