Mr. Watkins grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 2007 with a B.A. in psychology. In 2011, he graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
In law school, he was a two-time member of the National Moot Court Team. During his third year, his moot court team placed first in the southeast region and second nationally out of 180 teams. He additionally won best brief and placed second overall in the Advocate’s Prize Moot Court Competition, arguing his final round before Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas and four judges from the United States Circuit Courts of Appeals.
He is the recipient of the Susan B. Devitt Award for Outstanding Written and Oral Advocacy and was elected to the Order of the Barristers. He was also an editor for the Tennessee Journal of Law and Policy and served on the Moot Court Board. Currently, Mr. Watkins is a member of the Knoxville Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association.
Mr. Watkins focuses his practice in medical malpractice defense, health law, and general business and corporate matters.
